Octopus

Octopus @ Brea
Met up with Marvas for dinner tonight~
we decided to met half way so I suggested Brea. Checking out Restaurant.com I picked Octopus Japanese Fusion Restaurant. This rest. is the same as Tomikawa @ Irvine. Well, food quality at Tomikawa is horrible now but not Octopus. I never been here so it's good to try it out~~
I showed up around 5:30pm so it was pretty empty. But by the time we started eating the rest. was full. People were waiting in line too!!!! I guess that is a good sign!

This rest. is located at downtown Brea... Korean own/run Japanese food.

Interior is really fancy... All the services are great too!

Trendy looking!!!

Server came with with a plate of sauces... no idea what they are but they all taste pretty good~
At Tomikawa they didn't have this.

Yellowtail Roll $4.50 & Salmon Roll $3.95
Price isn't bad and the food is good too!

California Roll $3.95 I love their California Roll cuz it's made of REAL crab meats!!! It is so good!!!

Spider Roll $9.95 Tasty too!!! Fried Crab... tasty!

Miso Egg Plant $5.95... Pricy for this dish but it's pretty good!

Oh... we also ordered Tuna Roll and Clam miso soup but I forgot to take pix of them... hehehe
Never a fan of Korean run Sushi place but I gotta say Octopus is pretty good!!!!
Next time... I shall be back!

Yojie Shabu Shabu

I heard Yojie serves nice Shabu Shabu... I love Shabu so gotta try this place since I am at Downtown LA today!!! It's right next to the FIDM. This place is really empty during lunch time but the service is EXCELLENT! Our server is so small, & cute! Even I will fall in love with her!

Trendy Japanese Restaurant...

Menu... we came during lunch time so they got lunch special...
Overall I think the price is pretty good!!!!
Iced Green Tea, so good!!!!
Our pot...

Eddamame $3... tasty too!
I ordered The Sumo Lunch Special $17 - 24 pieces of beef, plate of veggies, and rice!
Enough meat for 2 people really...

The Sumo - Tasty Beef!!!

Marvas ordered the combo $16.... A plate of chicken and a plate of beef. Her beef doesn't look as tasty as mine tho.

Fresh ground garlic, white carrots, and onions... GOOD!
Dipping sauce... The sesame one isn't good... A bit too sweet to me!
Overall, it's a nice fancy place for lunch around downtown LA.
Our meal was $45... hehehe Expensive for 2 girls on a budget. But we totally forgot we got budget to worry about... See our next post Desserts!!!

Wakasa Dinner

Been to Wakasa once... Always wanna tried their super bowl...
They said this can is good for 6 adults...
mmn... ya this thing totally can feed over 6 adults cuz it's mainly RICE RICE RICE!!!
If I recall correctly it's around $50 for this big bowl...
Overall it's not worth it... the fish isn't fresh fresh too!!!!
but the last time I was there it was very tasty~~~ >,<
Everything does look very tasty!!!!

It's big!!! Looks good but taste bad~

compare my face with the bowl... hehehe amazing big!
3 of us finished it but so much leftover rice!!!!
I don't know but it's not as good as I thought...
Fish wasn't fresh... 2 outta 3 ppl got sick.
I guess this is my last timg going there~
oh.. the stupid part is that they automatically charges 18% tips to your bill.. NO! NO! NO!
so... Don't come here!!!!! Horrible Fish!!!!

Strawberry Cones

Stawberry Cones is not ice cream store... it's Japanese Pizza Restaurant
I heard others talk about it but was very excited coming here!!!!
It is really odd tho, Japanese pizza store open in a Chinese community.
I got to say, I love the pizza here. It's so good! I love it~ Can't wait to come back...

PIZZA PIZZA PIZZA

Menu is hanging on the wall... Everything looks very tasty!

The restaurant is really small but clean

I believe this is the tofu nuggets.
Smashed tofu with carrots & green veg. Taste so good with ketchup~

we ordered pizza but mmn I think the pizza is really typical.

Here comes out pizza #1 Meat Paradise.
we ordered small size which is enough for 3 girls (1 is mommy to be)

This pizza is my favorite. Mochi Mentai pizza in black crust~
Oh my god, I love this one!!! The satlness of fish eggs & chesse taste so good with chewy mochi! PERFECT~ I think I ate over 4 slices myself... Totally stuffed myself with Mochi Mentai pizza~

Miss Alice with pizza. Pizza looks really good and taste really good too~

Fukada Restaurant

Finally I am back at Fukada~
This place is sooooo good!
As usual I ordered my favorite udon with Japanese wild veggie & spicy tuna don (rice). Toan ordered seafood salad and crunchy roll. As for Hong she ordered tonkitsu don.
I borrowed this camera from a friend...horrible Sony camera. Most of the photos are dark and blurry.
As for dessert Toan ordered fried ice cream~~~ I love fried ice cream but fukada makes it nasty~~~ Not good at all. I miss how my aunt/uncle makes it for me. I miss my uncle's sushi restaurant in Maryland.

Mitsuru Cafe

Freshy made imagawayaki. YUM~

Shrimp balls on the left and Takoyaki on the right.
Takoyaki is pretty good...octopus inside...yum~

Shrimp balls... This is GOOD! I like it!

Love the takoyaki, so hot & fresh...it just melts in your mouth and bursts with flavor.
I also like the squid balls a lot. So much flavor to it!!!
Freshly made imagawayaki (Red Bean Sandwich) - not overly crispy pancake with hot azuki bean center. The price isn't bad for 2 imagawayaki, 1 shrimp ball, and 1 takoyaki...$6.50 Great afternoon snack~

Tsuruhashi Restaurant

Another Japanese BBQ place in Orange County. This place is not as expensive as Anji, but you get what you pay for... The service is extremely nice! Waitress kept coming back with new cup of hot tea! Overall the meat is good, service is excellent but the only thing I don't like about this rest. is that the sauce they offered for the meat isn't the sauce I like. Since it's my first time here I order the weekday special for $25 dollars I get 4 types of meat to try. Along with my order I asked for a big bowl of rice...errr $3 dollars! Expensive rice but it's really good! Mmn, I would rather pay a little more for Anji.

FUKADA

Very famous Japanese Noodle Restaurant @Irvine. I seen so much good reviews about it... Finally able to try it out with my cousins~ After testing it myself I gotta say yes, it's the best Japanese noodle around Irvine. But still not as good as Shin Shen Gumi (Fountain Valley). The price is extremely cheap too. $9 during lunch time for a bowl of rice and a bowl of noodle. As for dinner it's $11 for a bowl of rice and a bowl of noodle. I really like there rice bowl!!! For your rice, you can ask for white rice or brown rice. There brown rice is organic which taste really good!!! Make sure you come early now or else you will be in line.

Black Cherry Garden

We love coming here!!!! Everything taste so good! Wonderful services too! We had the restaurant all to our self that night!!! Wonderful!!! Thanks to Amanda for the wonderful $230 dinner!

Tori Tori...yum~

Tori rice... yum too!

Rice is really good with Miso!!!

Chicken broth soup... so clean and sweet taste!

My favorite dish!!!! Ice coffee jelly!!! Not to sweet not to milky!!! I love it!

6 of us ate 66 sticks and countless rice balls.... Love it~

Yeah!!! Finally back to Black Cherry Garden again! Lil, Amanda and I had a wonderful meal the very first time we tried that place. This time we made reservation before we drop by the restaurant!!! We requested Tomato with bacon, chicken skin, and chicken wings!!!
Last time we ate here, we loved the tomato with bacon... This time I like "ume shiso with chicken" the most!!! Tammy loves there chicken skin... Lily loves the triangle rice with miso... Amanda still loves Tomato with bacon...
Sadly the chef will be closing Black Cherry Garden by end of the year. He wiill be opening up another restaurant with others @ Burbank next Feb. The new restaurant will be serving, kushitori (Japanese BBQ), Chinese food, & Italian food. When everything is complete at the new restaurnt I'll go taste it out!!!! At the end I gotta say thank you to Amanda for the expensive dinner. $230 for 6 of us...wowow expensive~ But we all had a wonderful time... we ate like we are rich, we act like we are rich, and yes we are rich that night!!! This wonderful memory will always be with me~ Thanks Amanda~
